Short version: no account, no ads, nothing sold. Your roster syncs through your own iCloud, and we spell out exactly what leaves your device.

This Privacy Policy describes how Stack the Lineup ("Stack the Lineup," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Stack the Lineup mobile application (the "App") and this website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.
Stack the Lineup does not require you to create an account, does not display advertising, and does not sell your personal information. The majority of the information you enter is stored locally on your device and within your own Apple iCloud account, to which we do not have access. The sections below identify the limited categories of information that are transmitted beyond your device and the purposes for which they are used.
In the course of using the App to build lineups, you may enter the following categories of information (collectively, "User Content"):
User Content is stored on your device and, as described in Section 3, within your own iCloud account.
The App uses Apple's iCloud service (CloudKit) to synchronize your teams across your devices and to enable the Shared Teams feature. As a result, your roster and game data are stored in your own iCloud account on Apple's servers, not on servers we operate or control. Because this data resides in your private iCloud database, we have no ability to access, view, or retrieve it.
If you use Shared Teams to invite an assistant coach, the shared team's roster, lineups, position assignments, and game notes become accessible to the individuals you invite. You should only share a team with individuals to whom you intend to grant that access. You may terminate sharing or modify a participant's access at any time from the Edit Team screen. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
If you enable notifications, the App registers with Apple's push notification service and stores a device token, together with the associated team identifier and coach name, in the public database of our iCloud (CloudKit) container, so that notifications can be routed to the correct devices. Unlike your roster and lineup data, which reside in your own private iCloud storage and are not accessible to us, these notification records are held in our container and are accessible to us. They are used solely to deliver notifications.
We operate a single server (a Cloudflare Worker) whose sole function is to deliver these notifications, for example to inform assistant coaches that a lineup has been finalized. When such an event occurs, the App transmits to this server the team identifier, team name, the name of the coach who triggered the notification, and the game's opponent and date. Player names and roster data are not transmitted. Information processed for this purpose is used solely to deliver the applicable notification and is not used to build a profile of you or disclosed or sold to any third party.
You may disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics provider, to understand feature usage and inform product improvements. TelemetryDeck records discrete events, such as "app opened," "auto-fill used," or "PDF exported," together with simple aggregate counts such as the number of players on a roster.
These analytics events do not include player names, team names, opponent names, or any other User Content. TelemetryDeck does not track you across other applications or websites, and we do not use advertising networks of any kind. Analytics are not transmitted when the App is run in the iOS Simulator.
Separately, if you have opted in to share analytics and diagnostic data with app developers through your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregated diagnostic reports. You may disable this sharing at any time in your device settings.
Coaching Insights and the natural-language parsing used for Auto-Fill are processed entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your roster and game history are not transmitted to us or to any third-party artificial intelligence service in connection with these features.
If you import a season schedule, the App retrieves the calendar link you provide (for example, a GameChanger calendar URL) directly from the applicable provider. We do not receive or store a copy of that schedule. Any information you retrieve in this manner is subject to that provider's own privacy policy.
Stack the Lineup Pro is sold exclusively through Apple's App Store, either on a subscription basis or, for coaches who purchased it prior to the subscription model, as a one-time purchase. All transactions are processed by Apple. We do not receive, view, or store your payment information. Apple provides us only with the information necessary to confirm that a purchase is active so that Pro features may be unlocked. Apple's handling of payment information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Stack the Lineup is designed for use by coaches, who are adults, and the Service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
The App does store information about youth players, including names, jersey numbers, and league age, because coaches enter this information for the purpose of building a lineup. This information is stored on the coach's device and within the coach's own iCloud account, and is disclosed only to coaches expressly invited through Shared Teams. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transmitted to our analytics provider.
As the coach using the App, you are responsible for obtaining any permission required from a player's parent or guardian prior to recording that player's information, and for complying with your league's policies regarding the handling of such information.
The following third parties are involved in the ordinary operation of the Service:
We do not use advertising networks, and we do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes.
Roster and game data remain in your device storage and your iCloud account until you delete them. Notification device tokens are retained only while valid, and are replaced or removed as devices change. Analytics events are retained by TelemetryDeck in anonymized form pursuant to its own retention practices.
Deleting a player, team, game, or the App removes the corresponding data from your device and your iCloud storage. Ending a Shared Team removes other coaches' access to that team. Disabling notifications in your device settings stops the notification messages described in Section 4. Restoring a purchase on a new device restores Pro access only; your roster data is not restored through this process, as it is maintained through your iCloud account.
If you reside in a jurisdiction that provides rights of access, correction, deletion, or portability with respect to personal information (including the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California), you may exercise those rights by contacting us at the email address in Section 14. Because we do not hold your roster or game data, most such data is already within your direct control on your device and in your iCloud account.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page and post the updated version here. Where a change is material, we will endeavor to reflect it in an App update as appropriate.
